Hello Body Evolvers!

Today I’d like to have a chat about something that’s been on my mind a lot lately. The power of dreaming big!!

Whats sparked this train of though is a book that I was actually given nearly 10 years ago. But it had been put onto my bookshelf and forgotten about until this week. That book is The Magic Of Thinking Big by Dr. David J. Schwartz.

Its a fascinating read, as it goes against the grain of what many advise when you’re trying to achieve something. The usual stance is to make the goal seem manageable. Don’t make it feel scary by making it feel overwhelming.

David Schwartz though has a very different view. And since reading his book, it’s one that I can’t help share. He states that big goals are essential, as success is not determined by your opportunities or your barriers. Rather it is determined by the size of your thinking.

This belief that your thoughts control your destiny are not new. They have been stated by great minds throughout the ages. The prophet David said “As one thinketh in his heart; so he shall be”. Shakespeare had a similar notion, observing that “There is nothing either good or bad except thinking it it so”.

No-one ever reached the stars by aiming at the tree tops. Dream big. Instead of limiting what you think you can achieve, believe that you can achieve the extraordinary.

As a closing note, I still hold fast to the Body Visions method of breaking down big goals into smaller, more manageable chunks. This allows you to avoid the feelings of being overwhelmed. But having that over arching goal will provide you with the desire to push yourself that bit harder, run that bit longer and make your nutrition that bit better.

Think big. Win big. And grasp everything your heart desires!
